Arizona Cardinals 33, Dallas Cowboys 30: Minshew erases a 24-10 fourth-quarter lead
Dallas led 24-10 early in the fourth, then gave up three Gardner Minshew II touchdown passes and lost 33-30 to Arizona in overtime.

The Dallas Cowboys led 24-10 with 14:20 left in regulation and did not turn the ball over all afternoon. They still lost. Gardner Minshew II threw three fourth-quarter touchdown passes, the last with six seconds left, and Chad Ryland's 42-yard field goal in overtime gave the Arizona Cardinals a 33-30 win at AT&T Stadium.
The defense could not get the last stop, and it could not slow the run. Arizona ran for 202 yards and outgained Dallas 467 to 261.
How it was won
Dallas scored first without its offense. James Mitchell recovered a fumble in the end zone at 2:33 of the first quarter, and Brandon Aubrey's kick made it 7-0. Dak Prescott found Ryan Flournoy for a 9-yard touchdown at 5:16 of the second, and Ryland's 37-yard field goal sent it to halftime 14-3.
Aubrey added a 31-yarder midway through the third for 17-3. Then Tyler Allgeier broke a 63-yard touchdown run with 57 seconds left in the quarter, and the game changed shape. Allgeier finished with 147 yards on 11 carries.
Prescott answered on the first play of the fourth quarter with a 5-yard touchdown run, 24-10. Minshew hit Allgeier for a 5-yard score at 10:47. Aubrey's 35-yard field goal at 3:54 made it 27-17, and Minshew found Trey McBride from 14 yards at 2:11 to cut it to three.
Aubrey kicked again, from 41 yards at 1:09, for 30-24. That left Arizona one drive, and Minshew finished it with a 13-yard touchdown to Michael Wilson with six seconds on the clock. Ryland missed the extra point, which sent the game to overtime at 30-30 instead of ending it. Ryland made up for it with the 42-yard winner at 2:53 of the extra period.
Minshew was 17 of 23 for 188 yards and three touchdowns. Wilson caught eight passes for 111 yards and McBride seven for 72. Arizona converted 8 of 18 third downs and turned it over twice.
Prescott went 19 of 29 for 195 yards and a touchdown, and ran seven times for 20 yards and another score. Javonte Williams carried 24 times for 56 yards, 2.3 per attempt. CeeDee Lamb led the receivers with seven catches for 58 yards; George Pickens had two for 48. Dallas was 6 of 16 on third down and settled for four Aubrey field goals, including two in the final four minutes when a touchdown would have closed it out.
Against the number
Dallas closed as a 7-point favorite, so Arizona covered with room to spare and won outright. The Cardinals were +270 on the moneyline at the close, with Dallas at -340.
The total closed at 54.5. The teams combined for 63 points, so the over cashed, though it needed the late fourth-quarter scoring and overtime to get there; the score sat at 27-17 with under four minutes left. Full pricing history is on the game page.
What's next
Both teams are 3-5. For Dallas, the season has alternated all year: a 38-21 win at Philadelphia last week was followed by this loss, and three of the five defeats have come at home. Two of the losses, this one and the 34-31 game against Baltimore, were decided by a field goal.
The Cowboys travel to face the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, November 8, on Fox. Arizona's next opponent was not part of the information available for this recap.
